Back to Build a Bankroll Again

Been a while, I'm going to be posting about some shots I take at building a roll. I plan on doing several builds starting with about $75 and playing with 50 BBs, onetabling limit. Since the blog was last used I have been primarily a NL player and been consistently, profitably beating the $100NL and a little of the $200NL games. Follow along while I try to build another $10,000 bankroll.

Day 13, 14, 15, and 16:

I didn't play a couple days and the other days I had went back home for the weekend, so I didn't get any results posts up, and didn't even get much time at the tables. I have continued to play the $2/4 shorthanded games at Pokerstars to work off the $120 rebuy deposit bonus that they have.

Results:
Online (Pokerstars): -$114.00
Not much happened at the $2/4 tables, a couple days I played some $3/6 shortly and a quick shot at $5/10 but never really got anything going and ended up down about $114.00 over the 3-4 days which is totally within the variance of those levels. I will continue playing these this week.

Canterbury (Live Poker): -$487.00
Well another horrible day of live poker last night as I just simply could not scoop any pots. Had several hands cracked, nothing held up past the turn, etc. I originally sat down at the $6/12 game and it was a table full of some pretty solid tables so I quickly moved to an $8/16 game that was one of the best games I have sat at so far. By being a great game I mean that there was over $4000 at the table and there was two guys that would not fold a hand until the river..every hand.. Both of them went on some sick rushes as I waited patiently to score a big hand. I did hit a full house once and both guys called me to the river, but beyond that hands simply failed to hold up again and again and I lost just a little over 30 big bets before leaving. Another big loss at the live tables is quite a setback in the quest for $10,000 but I could afford the limit and it was a great game so I have no regrets.

Day 12:

Results:
Online (Pokerstars): $62.00
I continued multitabling the $2/4 shorthanded games at Pokerstars for a few hours last night and was able to win a little bit, $62.00. They currently have a redeposit bonus going on with a $120 bonus on a $600 deposit so I made the deposit and am working on clearing that bonus. In the same email that they mentioned that they said they had new software in the works that will include resizable tables which I am pretty excited about for multitabling. I played another double shootout to try to get into the weekend tournament and was able to win my first table of the shootout after winning a long headsup battle. At the second table I doubled up early with QQ and then ran Q6 into 86 on a 668 flop, I was committed after the turn and such was life. Got a $35 payday, not quite a ticket but still alright.

Continued playing $2/4 shorthanded hold 'em, again didn't get much time in but I have finished my summer class so I will be able to play a lot more from here out which will hopefully get the quest going strong.

Day 10:

Results:
Online (Pokerstars): $17.00
On Day 10 I continued multitabling the $2/4 shorthanded turbo games at Pokerstars and ended down with a $17.00 loss, I started about $40 up and then found a couple maniac players that would raise gutshots through to the river and after continuously getting caught on I was down almost $200. However, I was able to stick it out and get most of it back to end right around even less the $17.

Day 8 and 9:

Results:
Online (Pokerstars): $125.60
I continued playing online at the $2/4 shorthanded turbo tables the last couple days and was able to win about $125 over a couple hours time. I also played some tournaments, such as the the Sunday Million Dollar Guaranteed, but I was never able to get anything going and never found a hand. Midway through the 2nd hour I found AK and a short stack ahead of me shoved all in, I had about double his stack so I shoved over the top to try to isolate and got one caller behind me. I was up against AA and KK so the tournament was over.

Canterbury (Live Poker): $430.00
On Day 8 I returned to the Canterbury Card Room and sat down at an $8/16 with some very big stacks, there had to be over $6000+ on the table. However, I was pretty cold decked and several big hands didn't hold up, and I ended up down about $430.

Treasure Island (Live Poker): $38.00
On Day 9 I headed over to another local card room, Treasure Island to play some $2/10 spread, as usual the game was very easy with several very loose and passive calling stations. One hand I had AA and raised, KK just cold called, along with 5-8, the 5-8 caught a straight by the river and I took a nice loss on the hand. I was close to even all night, either up or down around $60, I got rivered by two pair a couple times before the table broke up and ended the night with a $38 loss.

Day 6 and 7:

Results:
Online (Pokerstars): $69.00
I had a little bit of freetime on Friday, Day 6, and I decided to play some online poker for a little bit, about half an hour and lost close to $70 playing some $2/4 shorthanded games. Day 7 I didn't have any freetime to play poker, but today I plan on playing the $1,000,000 Guaranteed Tournament on Pokerstars.

Day 5:

Results:
Canterbury (Live Poker): $188.00
Last night I headed to Canterbury again to play some more live poker, when I arrived I was unsure what limits I was going to play but I had been on a pretty good streak at the loose $8/16 games recently so I decided to sit there and then check out some of the other games. I walked past the $15/30 table and it looked like there was some decent money on the table and I decided I would take a shot with $500 since I had been running so hot recently. I had to wait about an hour and I ended up about just short of $50 at my first $8/16 table, nothing too eventful except when I flopped a set of 4's from late position against KQ on a KQ4 rainbow board.

After I moved to $15/30 I was card dead for about the first hour at the table before I found QQ. Flop was K high and I made a continuation bet, one caller and the turn was an A and he bet into me. I folded and he showed AK. A couple rounds later I found KK in the blind and the flop was 567 rainbow, I bet out, got raised and the button cold called. I peeled another off to see where I stood, the turn was a 4, I check, got a bet, and cold caller also called so I mucked. River was a K and they checked it down, initial raiser had 2 pair, cold caller had 23 for the low end of the straight, haha great play. Most of the night I hovered around $300-400 down until I get AA and it held up, followed by a limp with 33 on 3AA flop. Turn was a K, and no one raised preflop so I thought I was still good and was able to get 3 bets in 3 way, praying that I dont see another K. River was a 4 which seemed like a pretty good blank so I bet out, got called in both places again and scooped the $400+ pot. Had QQ again a few hands later which also held up and I walked away up just short of $140 from the $15/30 table in about 4-5 hours of play, so pretty close to breakeven for the limits. I probably won't be playing $15/30 often but I thought I had been hot recently and just had a couple big wins so I would take a shot, the level of play was nothing exceptional, and I think I was at a tighter table than they usually are there. The only thing holding me back would be my bankroll but I hope to play there regularly eventually.
